If your worried then ask your dealer the question. I’m sure they’ll have some guidance on the matter. And if they don’t then I’m sure they can make the necessary noises to those in Bologna.
ET, I'm not worried atm. My bike isn't currently leaking, but wanted to mention it in case a few were not aware of it. I have read comments on various SM sites that some bikes have had leaks.
My bike doesn't leak from the cap, but shows signs of leaking from the breather pipe hole in the lower fairing/ belly pan. After a spirited ride the bike has oily residue along the underside of the bike and in hot weather you can see fuel vapours blowing out from the outlet under the bike.
Had a recall letter today for “fuel spraying out of the filler plug”. 30 minute fix. V4s June 2018. Richard
Had it once or twice both before and after the initial recall. More a large puff of gas than a full on shower, but nonetheless surprising. Luckily I'm not Patsy from AbFab. Recall letter arrived today. Quite a trundle to Winchester to get it fixed, but hey ho weather is nice.
