Got a bit of a problem with replacing the fuel level sensor on a 996, got a new one, usual ridiculous price, part number is 59210142A which is 748 through to 998, this supersedes 59210141A and by the looks of it also 59210073B which shows up on the parts diagram ??? The old sensor has a hole in the side for the two wires to exit to connect to the pump but the new sensor just has a groove for the wires to lay in but they exit from the sensor right near the big nut that fastens the unit to the base plate and there's no clearance for the wires to pass through the hole in the base plate ? The old sensor is also longer and all black where as the new one is shorter with a free rotating grey end. Any ideas ?
