1198 Fuel Level Sensor

  1. Hey fellas.

I have fitted a larger capacity alloy tank to my 1198; its from the Corse bike, which I think is 2 litres or so larger than the standard plastic tank.
The low fuel level sensor doesn't realise I have the extra capacity & so illuminates the low fuel warning light at the same point (miles covered) as it did with the plastic tank, even though I still have plenty of fuel left.
I understand the sensor is a thermister.
Is the Corse bike thermister the same part as the standard 1198s, or different?
If its the same, can it be set at a different height to allow for the extra fuel?

I keep a check on the miles covered anyway so its not a big deal, but I will be removing the fuel pump assembly soon to replace the filter & thought it worth correcting whilst in there.

    Thanks :)

  2. Would the Corse bike even have a fuel level warning light?

  3. Yes pal; Corse is just the colour & spec; it’s a road bike with one of the features being the larger tank.

  4. Oh right. I thought you actually meant an RS.
