thanks for that mate but i was looking for second hand it is a budget bike , oh and thanks for the belts for the 999 got them today
Pull the whole lot out of the tank, fit an inline filter (or two maybe) and one of these..... Facet Posi-Flow Electric Fuel Pump 1 5 - 4 0 psi with filter hose union - special offer PS.....It means 1.5 to 4.0 psi. AL.
alternatively this unit is useable but without the 'teabag' filter :- eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace
eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace Also another option as it comes in a complete kit, will work on IE dukes too.
looks good for use on injected versions but 35 p.s.i. is too high for carb model Imola? should of added above - i've used the 'sierra' pump and it's totally interchangeable (and operates at the right pressure) even down to the connections but it does need a second, primary filter (in place of the 'teabag') or else there is a risk of seizing the motor if it sucks up big debris.
Hi Chris, The carby carbs run on a open circuit, you have a return hose in the y piece. So it makes no difference to the psi. The pump is rated to run up to bar pressure when it's working in a closed circuit. Hope this helps
Hi Steve - yes, i'd thought of that but you'd think it would have to return at a right old pace even so! If you've tried one then fair enough but i'd still worry about possible flooding if it were me.

Chris and Steve thanks for all your help , next question on the underside of the tank you have 3 outlets far left has a little alloy turn screw thing then two more pipes as i got the bike in bits i have no idea what goes ware?, and the little alloy thing is knakerd and will need replacing
the one with the aluminium on/off cock is the feed, the next one is the return from the carbs and the smaller pipe next to it is the fluid drain from the aperture under the tank filler cap (often blocked!)
Hi Chris, Do i know you ? I ran a Injection pump on my DD 600ss carb race bike with no problems at all.
Hi Steve, it feels like I know you! don't think we've met but you bought your ST4 off Rob who I know well from 'isti. Also I followed all the (censored) stuff that went down and admired you for sticking to your scruples (a spade is a spade innit?) Best we don't start that one up on here though.
thanks for that the alloy tap is fooked and the drain is blocked , happy days , do you know if you can still get a replacement for the alloy tap ?
I will try and remember in the morning  - it was fitted to many other Cagiva tanks of the era but I vaguely remember someone coming up with a modern equiv.
