Last week it was dark visors … next week, you guessed it, small number plates.

 

I’m genuinely beyond giving a fuck about all their nonsense now.

 

I’ll tempt fate. For the last 38 years, I’ve ridden bikes with loud pipes (not stupidly loud) small plates and where possible, the darkest of visors.

In all that time, I’ve had one ticket, that on reflection, was for a piss take of a letterbox size number plate. Other than that, nothing.

I’m sure MCN will continue to pad out their editorial with the usual cycle of nonsense.

Same as it ever was.

 

To be honest I couldn’t give a toss either, it’s true that MCN just repeat the same old nanny state stories time and time again…..
Noisy pipes, black visors, small plates!!, who gives a toss, you can completely legally ride with no visor and just a pair of your wife’s knickers if you want.
Electric bikes ridden by feral kids, stealing others bikes, wheeling up the middle of the road, thieving from shops in gangs………… and don’t start on Cars with bang bang bang bang exhausts , mapped and obviously uninsured ( who believes these idiots ring and say I’d like to amend my policy to cover a heavily modified ecu ? )
Police stations closing down all over, police compounds full of marked cars not on the roads, whilst they fill out reports!!

Just get out there and ride. Rant over.

 

I’ve mentioned this to the wife and didn’t get a most favourable response, not the best start to a Saturday morning.

So purely in the interests of the forum and scientific research, if anyone sends me a pair of their wife’s* knickers, I’ll let you know how I get on.

a) we have no annual MOT or equivalent for bikes here in ROI and the police don’t police things like that here, and,
b) I turn my hearing aids off when I put my helmet on

 

I've seen a video with Leo-Vince decat pipes, and stock can, but it was a bit much.

Admittedly that’s what the man I bought the link pipe from said but as I say no noise police here and me turning my aids off is the same as someone else wearing ear plugs. TBH sub 5,000, so when poodling through towns it’s perfectly ok, it only gets really raucous when you go WOT.

 

Not too worried about police, but I don't want the bike to turn out annoying to myself. Also, I need to consider warranty void, it's new, and 4 years warranty. Might just wait it out.

 

May I point sir in the direction of the full system from Ducati, in that case.
