1200 Full Slipper Clutch Install

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Stuart Auckland, Oct 18, 2022.

  1. Hi,

Has anyone fitted an aftermarket slipper clutch to their 1200? - If so any recommendations please?

I know it has a basic type as standard but would prefer a full mechanical one to compliment an IRC QS/Blipper I'm fitting.

I've used STM before and they seem the most competitive on price compared to the Super/Sigma/EVR for the MTS.

Any tips/advice on install to watch out for too? Mine is a 2011 model.

    Thanks

  2. I looked no further than the man who created and developed the slipper clutch for Ducati, Edo Vigna and fitted the EVR to my track focussed Multistrada 1200. 4 days and 600 hard track miles, I’m impressed. Andy

  3. @Stuart Auckland, I’d be interested in your feedback on the IRC as there was nothing available at the time I had my Multistrada built and a reliable QS/Blipper would be the icing on the cake for what is an awesome track bike. Andy

  4. Will do. I've done the install which was simple enough, just need to check the settings and test ride now.

I'll do a write up and review once complete.

  5. I have
STM 48t 6 spring classic on my 1098R
    STM 48t EVO on 749R
(Also have Ducati standard 3 ramp, no balls slipper on track 749R but these are deemed to be not blingtastic and thus worthless by some people)

    All work perfectly.
Disadvantage with the EVO is one needs pricey STM tool to hold hub so maintenance is slightly more hassle ((I made an agricultural version from bits of scrap lying around though so it was free)

  6. 1200 Multistrada is a wet clutch @RickyX :D Andy

  8. I had the Sigma slipper fitted to mine, it's labelled for the 1199 Panigale and fitted straight in. I've been able to feel it work on the track and it's posed no problems over a few thousand road miles since.
