Full Termi vs Quat D and remap

  1. Ok having read lots on various exhaust options I am down to two, full termi or Quat D with a CJS remap

    1. Will I get an mot with the Termi?
    2. Where is the best place to buy the Quat D
    3. which is best for ride-ability (not worried about outright performance)

My gut feeling is the termi as I prefer the look and my local dealer can fit (mechanically inept) but the Quat d sounds great and everyone seams to rave about it together with the CJS remap.

Lots of posts on the various options so would appreciate a straight opinion on the 2 as I have definitely discounted any other options

  2. With a CJS remap, rideability and outright power will be pretty much identical as according to Chris they're very similar to tune. For getting through the test with the Termi, just find an accommodating MoT station.

Ultimately, it'll come down to whichever you prefer the look of.

  3. Had the same quandary myself. Went for the full Termi system with a DIY install by me. I love it, what a sound and weight saving. Check out my post but at the end of the day you pays your money etc etc.

  4. I got my Termi from a dealer who are also MOT testers, and I checked to make sure it would pass.

IMHO the Termi is less hassle and, as it's Ducati made, it will be the safer option.

  5. I guess the easier option is the Termi, do it yourself or dealer fit, although the ECU can be a bit of a challenge to change with lots of trims to remove. I went for the QD because i loved the looks and sound, didn't like the look of the long termi silencer, and heard a few reports of it melting no. plates and indicators, but each to there own..? Had a CJS remap later, which did make quite a difference. Both save a lot of weight when you get rid of the Cat. So ride-abilty is improved with either? Got my QD from Spareshack, but it appears they are no longer trading? Spare Shack Hope that's a help??

  6. Try Belissimoto in the US for the QD's. Damn pity about SpareShack; Joe is a great guy.
