Morning gents, Has anyone on this forum fitted the fullsix carbon heatshield to their 899? I've just ordered one from conquest carbon and Steve has recommended I fit the stock metal heatshield underneath-this will there for need to be cut to size as the carbon heat shield is smaller...will the fullsix heatshield discolour if I don't fit the inner part? Has anyone had any problems with the carbon burning without? I can't seem to find anyone else who has actually fitted the metal part inside? Thanks Danny
Carbon heatshields are well known to burn and discolour on the pani,i have run the Ducati r heatshield on my 899 and now on my 1299 with no problems but they are larger, ie do not sit as close to the exhaust and are mounted to the subframe not directly onto the exhaust,I would wait until it arrives and see how it works with the inner cover.
Mine has started to go brown, only noticeable in certain light and it's been on for 10,000 miles. Mine is the satin finish.
Thanks for the feedback bud. I've brought one now anyways... I think no matter what one you go it will eventually go brown unless you buy the ceramic carbon one...
Agree, I would buy another. Although it's coloured it still looks good so don't worry. It is a pain to fit...
