  1. Thanks @chrisw it was more of a real world review I was interested in, but useful video anyway and great music :upyeah::grinning:

  2. Looks like Lino for garages! A smooth concrete floor is probably best having watched the video.

  3. Yes, I laid it in my garage and I have issues with it. It is not porous so if you put your car away wet, you get big puddles that can go nowhere unless you push it out with a broom. If you put your car away with hot/warm tyres, the grey goes brown (permanently) as in it looks burnt. I ended up laying it in 3 lengths edge to edge instead of end to end and it walks and rucks up. When I can be arsed and find the money, it will be replaced by something of better quality. Andy

  4. Apart from the water issue, you can bond (glue) it to the floor to prevent creep.
With the water bit I think I’d prefer it not to seep through the covering and pool and fester between it and the original floor.
Take it from me, I’ve lifted a few vinyl floors where water has been resting for a while, blow me it doesn’t half stink.

  5. Cheers for the replies.
Am only going to cover one side probably, not the who garage so hopefully the water won’t be an issue
The brown tyre marks I had thought about. May be a problem and I may look for other flooring.

  6. I did my garage two weeks ago with dynotiles - put a 2mm foam backing down first and I would, next time, stick to the grey and black tiles as the coloured ones are slightly smaller (my mistake to use red, amber and yellow tiles to brighten it up a bit). My garage floor is concrete and not particularly flat, but it I am pleased with with the finish.

No need to worry about heat expansion in my garage as it is north facing and there are no windows within it. Its very tough and I can use my ConStand bike lift and Abba rolling stands to easily move the bikes around in the garage to work on. Downside, the tiles are £4 each plus delivery and I bought 128 tiles - it is a 2.4m x 4.95m garage. You can lay it easily with a rubber mallet and a bench saw to cut the edges on the edge tiles to fit perfectly.

  7. Tiles or rubber mats can have a problem with water getting underneath, then it smells...
But if you don't get water in then it's fine.

  8. I bought 8mm chequered industrial rubber sheets. iirc 2no 1.5x7meters
It might worth to check the insulation under your concrete slab.(can check the mositure level in the concrete slab, but you should see if darker in the winter and lighter in the summer), once the rubber sheets are laid down the raising damp will get trapped under, so you might end up with water puddles under the rubber sheets then it might "migrate" towards the side walls.

  9. Who was the supplier ? I’m lucky, my garage is a relatively new build so 6” thick sheets of insulation and full damp proof membrane and luckily, 7m x 3m. Andy

  10. Sorry, I cannot remember...it was 5 years ago.
It took me a good couple of hours of "digging" on the net to find what I was looking for.
If your concrete is 100% insulated I would rather fit carpet tiles (can be bought cheap from refurbished offices)
