I use a Garmin XT Satnav having given up on Sygic. I use MyRoute app for tour planning and like the simple method of creating and downloading routes to the XT. I have a Sena SRL and IPhone 11 paired with the XT which I currently use as a hub. Having now had the software updates on my MS V4 I was wondering if it was time to use the bike as the hub as it is supposed to have increased stability. Is anyone doing this? Is there a stable pairing sequence that has worked for another user? I do not intend to use the Sygic navigation as the XT is a brilliant Satnav.
I suspect it is only relevant to the US market and not thought through for the European market. If I’m going to be ultra critical, I’d venture to suggest it was integrated by a car designer not a motorcyclist. It looks like and an A to B solution and no understanding of the concept of plotting your own route. Andy
I agree. Shame. The XT is such a brilliant Satnav it is hardly worth bothering with Sygic. Used with MyRoute app you get access to thousands of routes and it is easy to transfer them onto the XT.
Just an update. Have tried various permutations and this seems to be optimal. iPhone 11 paired to bike as phone. Helmet (SRL Mesh) paired to bike as Headset 1. Both using Ducati Connect. iPhone 11 paired to Garmin XT. Helmet paired to GPS as GPS. Deselect media/music and phone options in both helmet and phone Bluetooth pairings. Phone and music work seamlessly through bike. GPS directions clear and mute music when required. Music library is accessible through Ducati Connect or the GPS. No idea how it gets to GPS. I have done a couple of 150 mile days with this set up and have had no problems. Off to Croatia and Montenegro in a fortnight so that will be a good trial. Obviously not for the purist but I need music when I am doing serious motorway mileage.
If you display the music player on the Garmin you can skip tracks on your playlist with it, sits to the right and doesn't take up too much screen space.
I also have high quality ear buds from Ultimate Ear Hearing Protection. I can pair these with the bike as Headset 2 and can select albums/tracks and adjust volume. No GPS or phone but the compromise is fantastic sound quality. I switch off the SRL.
The only good thing the Ducati software can be used for, is navigating music and answering calls via phone bluetooth. Everything else is absolute cack, regardless of the model. My guess is through NetApp (data partner with Ducati) they have outsourced the actual mobile apps, I can't find who, but I doubt it's anyone with skill, and likely just cheap.
