Garmin Zumo 345 Install.

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Zippy, Jul 2, 2017.

  1. Morning,

The Birthday fairy bought me a nice new Garmin Zumo 345 last week but looking at the mounts and the wiring, as a complete technophobe I'm struggling to see how to install it.

I would like to have it hard wired but don't want to screw up the wiring process and cause more damage to the unit or worse still the bike itself..

Anyone got any first hand experience of hard wiring GPS and mounting on a 2013 Multistrada?

    Many thanks
    Howard

  2. First, look at the Navihalter mount. It's the best position for a Satnav (IMO)
Second, there's a feed at the front left side of the tank that's for the Ducati Satnav. Both sides of the plug are there, and if you're brave enough you can cut and splice the plug to the end of your Garmin harness.
There are a few threads around describing the process. Good luck.

  3. I would hope he's done it by now, his question was in Jul 17 :D

  5. I’ve made a note! Thanks.

A satnav is next on my list.
Struggling to get past the first decision point. TomTom or Garmin?
