Anyone prepared to divulge the best way to fit a Zumo 350 to a Multi - bearing in mind the U-clamp supplied is to short the use in conjunction with the bike's oversize handlebars. Could look for a longer clamp I suppose but the nearest hardware shop is rubbish and I'm looking for a quick fix!
quickest way - change a bar clamp bolt for a ram ball mount. best way (imo) - use a navihalter. If you don't like the nav up high, buy a clamp that puts it on the bar clamp area. Do a search, there are loads of posts about satnavs. or go have a look on motorcycleinfo. Hope that helps
Here's my 350 mounted, Since this picture was taken I,ve angled it a bit better so its easy to look at with a quick glance. I read the following link and bought the mounting kit from the US. It was the best solution for me and very happy with it. MTS1200 DIY Mods > MTS1200 GPS Mounting (3)
Touratech mount in conjunction with the Navi Halter works for me, keeps the Nav up high and in your line of sight.
Ram mount handlebar clamp bolt plus a short ram arm works fine for me, and is much cheaper than going with any of the bespoke holders.
+2 Navihalter. Way better than the handlebar mount IMHO. And you have the option to use a tank bag if you wish
IMO the Navihalter is one of the best options! I've also used a Telferizer ball mount replacement bolt, which was good, but does limit the use if you prefer, of a tank bag. The handlebar clamps are totally U/S IMO, they look messy and clumsy, however, you pays your money, you makes your choice. Each to their own depending upon budget and preferences.
I use the Ram handlebar mount replacement method but would like to get a Navihalter. I was struggling to find a UK stockist, is this where you have to order them from Germany? Navihalter Motorrad, Ducati Multistrada 1200 - Artikeldetailansicht - Online-Shop
My set up. Keeps the nav screen clear of the clocks plus it makes it easy to operate and in line of sight.
Thanks for the input ... has anyone used one of these? Sat Nav Mount Ducati Multi-Strada 1200 'Handle Bar Fitted' for Zumo 350LM | Motorrad Innovation Design Limited
