Howdo! Thought I would put a quick post on this guy Gary Walton. Gary (Ex-Royal) provides 1 on 1 track training. After getting the trackday bug I soon realised my 30 years of road riding didn't mean I was Rossi on the track. Although reasonably fast I missed apexes, braking became easier said than done, body position all over the place.....to name a few faults. So I was pointed into the direction of Gary. First don't be put of by the price and be a tight arse! This is money well spent and will benefit you more than a carbon exhaust can. 20th October 2015 No Limits Track Day (Inters) Arrived the previous night and slept in the van. After a very refreshing sleep it was down to business. Set me bike up in the paddock and was met by Gary: Top bloke - easy to get on with and approachable (This really does help and aids the learning process) with one thing on his agenda = To provide you with the best track training he can. How's this achieved? He listens. Watches. Explains your areas for improvement and backs this up with video footage (Which is de-briefed during the off track sessions). Then you put it into practice, practice and practice (Especially if your a duffer like what I is). I wanted to improve my braking and get on the power quicker! Gary listened and using open ended questions asked me how I got to the corner, round it and out of it.......easy......ergh no. The biggest point I took away was steering! This aided my entry speed into the corner and once complete allowed me to get on the gas quicker. I seemed to gain on people dramatically into the corner (Even though I was still learning). At the end of the day I was using more of the track, smoother, quicker and felt safer (Due to having more mental time to access the track - And not have my 'Arse on Fire'). The downside - I want to get on the track now to put this in practice!!! I also want to do more training sessions!!! If your going on the track you need to invest in training and Gary is the man!
