Gatwick Meet And Greet Parking Recommendations

  1. Yup, it's that time of year where the me and the family are off on holiday.

As it's the first time we'll be taking the little one I need the convenience of meet and greet, plus the fact I live hours away and we land back at stupid o'clock in the morning.

Anyway I guess quite a few of you are frequent travellers and having had a quick look this morning some company's that seem reasonably cheap don't get great reviews, however some are stupidly expensive so perhaps you get what you pay for.

Anybody got a decent recommendation that's been used recently? Must be meet and greet for south terminal

    Cheers

  2. I always go with the airport itself, never a 3rd party. If you book early, you can even get in short term at a cheaper rate and it works out OK. What I would suggest is the valet service, you drop at short term, nice and easy. They park it at long term but bring it back early, give it a full valet and it's available from easy pick up at short term on return. Works a treat and isn't anywhere near as much extra as the other options. Plus you get back from being away to a spruced up car which is better than the harsh bump to reality if your car is usually untidy.

  3. I also always use APH. Can't recommend them enough. On one occassion they even kept the buses running when our flight was delayed past normal Gatwick hours. How smug did we feel walking out to a big orange bus of our own whilst everyone else stood looking at an empty taxi rank!

Booking early gets a lower rate as with any other parking. It adds about 15-20 minutes to the journey and they have scales to weigh your bags if you think they might be overloaded (better to find out when you can still chuck excess back in the car). The main reason I use them is the security looks good, as I've heard so many horror stories of airport parking, I used to work with someone who had his stereo stolen in Gatiwck short stay and the car was only there for 30 minutes!

  4. Used Cophall Farm off airport parking for nearly 14 years and cannot fault them. Options include shuttle bus or meet and greet and valet service. Join their club and get up to 10-15% discount at certain times of the year. Open 24/7 during the summer and by arrangement in winter. Paid £23 for 6 days on a special offer just before Easter. 5. Thanks gents

  6. Damo, we stayed at the Sandman signature hotel before we took an early flight. We got 8 days free parking with the room. It was less than a tenner for a taxi into the airport. The ripping off bastards have your trousers down on the return though because you have to use the official taxi's, so it was £17.

  7. Funny you say that as I reckon I might be doing the same but kinda in reverse.

We fly out at lunch time but the flight back lands me at about 1.30am with still a 2.5hr drive home :Hungover:

I called a hotel offering a room and meet and greet service last night so just waiting for the manager to get back to me, I need to leave my car with them for a week and stay in the room the night I land back in the uk. To be honest it's the best solution but it all hinges on them allowing the stay after my holiday, not the night before.

What's the bets I get 'the computer says no' response :)

  8. If you watched Watchdog last night it was enough to put you off "meet and greet" parking forever, I want to actually see the car park my new car is going to sit at for 10 days, so 15 minutes on a minibus is small price to pay some for piece of mind.

  9. We use the holiday inn at Gatwick. Car is safe and doesn't leave the site. For 1 night stay and 15 nights parking it was £120. Worth giving a call to see if they can accommodate your particular needs.

  10. Purple Parking - Absolutely faultless service - highly recommended.
( No, I don't work for them, before anyone asks )
Have used them several times and definitely will again...
