Any thoughtss on this kit? it it of use or more a overpriced piece of junk? Ducati CERAMIC Pro Shift Kit - eliminate missed shifts, find neutral easier | eBay
Interesting. As far as I can see the only difference is the ceramic bearing though. Would it really make that much difference? Also, I'd like to know why the Kawasaki kit is £25 but the Ducati one is £89 for the same thing... Shift Kit virtually eliminate missed shifts, zx6d Ninja 90-93 and zx6e 93-05 | eBay
Because it says Ducati in the title and therefore we will pay it. Can't say i get that many missed shifts personally. It happens occasionally but more down to me than the bike. Yes i am flawed as a human despite it appearing i am not.
You'd think the expense is in the bearing as that's really the only difference. Ok, the Ducati kit includes a spring but that shouldn't add £50 on to the price! I expect you're right about the "Ducati" mark-up tax...
IMO...junk and expensive at that. The bearing is hype. It's nothing more than a cam follower in its use on the selector drum. Makes no odds that its ceramic as there's no rotation as such. Looks like they're using a heavier spring to accentuate the 'latch' as it rotates into the next gear. loading the pressure on the rotation of the drum is only going to put stress on the selector arm, especially the small hooks that push/pull the drum around.
