Hi all, need advice on my 2017 Multistrada gear sensor. I cannot get neutral on the dash. Even when I try by hand, if I do manage to get the display to 'N' it is in 1st or 2nd gear. I took the sensor out (with a 16mm spark plug tube spanner from an old bike tool kit) Pushed the plunger in and out a few times. Plunger all the way out 1st gear, depressed 2mm - N, another 1mm 1st, another 1mm 2nd and so on. Assumed working fine. Ba get it back in and all fixed. Tie wrapped the cabling, put the seat back on and........ same problem. Any ideas please?
You don’t know in what position the switch should be in for correct readings. You may move it a 1mm to get neutral but is that what the gearbox is delivering. Replace the switch would be the way to go for me.
The fact it causes 1 to be displayed when not pushed in then goes N then back to 1 again as it’s depressesd further does seem to indicate it’s faulty.
