V4 Gearing

  1. Just wondered if anyone had played with it. Two teeth up at the back and one down on the front etc. Or will it throw a wobbler into all the ECU pixies?

It's not that it needs harder acceleration- its friggin mental quick- it's just that some tracks need a certain gear for a certain corner. For example 3rd gear covered ALL of Almeria on my 1098R except the start/finish straight and the long back straight. I'm thinking I'll be going a gear lower with the V4. At Donington I found myself hooking 2nd on the V4 where the 1098R was good in 3rd.

Can't bloody wait btw. Anyone else here going to Almeria with Tracksense 27th-30th Oct??

  2. The RSV4 has to be recalibrated after changing the gearing and/or the tyre size. I have changed both but haven't bothered recalibrating yet and it seems fine.
Does the manual not say anything as it's all in the Aprilia manual?

  3. Yeah its the same deal with tyre recalibration. It probably does say in the manual Nick, but I'm a lazy bassah and can't be arsed with reading it. Have you read those manuals? They start to bore me about 16 seconds in
