German NaviHalter plus Zumo 660

  1. After weeks of umming and and ahhing, I'm on the verge of ordering a Garmin Zumo 660 to replace my current setup of iPhone running Navigon mounted on a NaviHalter. My question is, given that the 660 is twice the weight of the iPhone, do people with this setup experience a lot of 'bouncing' of the unit as the fairing flexes with the extra weight while on the move?

    Cheers

  2. Nope.

    Excellent combination IMHO.

  3. It does bounce a little but not much, you can slide the mount in and out slightly I would suspect if you slid it in it may reduce the vibration as its more enclosed within the dash/mounting area but be wary of screen clearance if you adjust the screen up and down any.

  4. Not so's you'd notice - brilliant setup in my opinion - done loads of touring and it's in the perfect position

  5. I use the aztec spacer aswell, which means I can slide the Navihalter in quite deep, and still get the angle I want. I haven't noticed any bouncing at all (Maybe my own bouncing is just synchronized with it?).

I have tried all sort of GPS holders on all sorts of bikes, and this is the best setup I have had so far. It's not in your face, but it's right there so you just flip your eyes down to look at it. Awesome stuff.

And I use a Zumo 660, no problems at all.

  6. I have the same set-up,it's brilliant. No problems with bouncing.

  7. I have a Zumo 660 on a NaviHalter - some bouncing but not a problem and the display is very readable. As the display is in an ideal position, I turned off the audio prompts. Takes a bit a getting used to, as you have to take note of the distance / time count downs to a turn.

  8. Thanks to all do your feedback. Looks like order will go in today then.

    Cheers
