Personally I've found a kelly-kettle to be far more convenient in different weather conditions than an open fire (but you can never do away with the romantic enamor of flames) if you know you can find stuff to burn! Rather than taking a fuel based burner kit along. A bivy bag rather than sheeting to stop bugs eating you alive whilst asleep & my latest edition to my traveling kit is a waterproof rucksack 'Ortlieb explorer 35L' from this site eXXpozed - sports & fashion but they have now moved over too the more expensive kit.
