I quite like that too. And, one of my 'Pet' things, it's got belt drive to the rear wheel, not a chain. If it can cope with the torque from a lecky motor I really don't understand why more road bikes don't have them. I know you'd need to change them more often, but they'd be cheaper than a chain and less messy to deal with. Also the sprockets shouldn't wear out at the same time.
I agree Nasher, when I had a BMW GT I did 20000 miles on it and had no trouble at all.It surprising as you say that more manufacturers don’t fit them as standard.
I think the reason may be that they look a bit crap ,a bit like the tele-lever front end ,meant to be better but never really convinced people over forks .
