Hi All, Not a new Ducati owner having had Multi 1000, 999s, pike peak 1200 and currently a Pani 959 and just bought another MTS 1000. Love the bikes only the 999 ever have me trouble and i think maintenance was required. I had forgotten what a great motor the 1000DS is. Shame about speedo prob which seems common.
You've summed it up perfectly - the old Multi is a lovely tool, only consolation of the electrics shortfalls is that it brought the s/hand price down over here for a while although the number of people "streetfighter-ing" them now seems to have bumped it back up - God forbid anyone needing a serious instrument repair now. Luckily many manufactured so s/h spares can still be found with patience.
