  1. Carbon tankpad is peeling away at bottom on my 1198
I know contact adhesive will sort it but just not sure about in my tank! I am guessing is ok ?
What sort of glue would you use?

  2. New tank pad

  3. If you use glue you won't get it off the paint

  4. Try warming it up with a hairdryer and re-sticking. May work.

  5. Fujack is right, you need a new pad. Happened to me with my 1098 last year

  6. Ok thanks guys - new pad it is!

  7. I could always paint the tank for you for £200 lol

  8. Would a blob of silicon harm the paint?

  9. No but I doubt it would hold it for any length of time

  10. Blutack?

  11. sticky backed plastic lol

  12. Blueberry hubba bubba!

  13. double-sided sticky tape and a washing up bottle

  14. I have just purchased a new tank pad, carbon fibre. For my mille, wasnt cheap. Its a crap fit. The top part sits too high up near the petrol cap. the old plastic one was looking tired. The double sided sticky pads that came with the new pad, didnt do the job. Within a day the pad on one side starting lifting up. So out come the hair dryer. I managed to get it off without peeling the paint-off. I am to going buy a plastic gel one. The carbon one will go on fleabay.

  15. Image works make the gel ones any design or even exactly the same as the DP ones
