1299 God Damn Stupid Ducati Parts Departments In Italy

  1. 1) Got new blank frame with crashed 1299S project from seller in Frankfurt.
Frames order receipt quotes (47022051CA) which is 1299S Frames part no.
Yet they gave him/me a 2014 build 1199 Frame and bushes,(47012051CA) so today I had to go buy the correct bush kit for the 1299 (24 degree kit) for £52, nevermind the hassle and ball ache of swopping the bush kits over.
    2) And for some F@cking STUPID Reason, Ducati thinks is totally fine to have the exact same part no.(61841151C) for the 1199 and 1299 front ABS pipe, even though there totally different design/shape.
The Order was for 1299 abs pipe, So I finally opened the packet today, removed old damaged abs pipe, ready to fit the new replacement, only to be left scratching my head for ages trying to figure out why they don't match, checked part no online and was a match to whats on the packet the pipe was in, so more scratching of my head for 30 minutes or so, looking at bike, so thought I would check the 1199 parts Fiche, and low and behold, same part no as 1299 abs pipe, YET its totally different, so no F@cking good to me. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And it ain't a cheap part either.
The receipt states 96.74 euro + another 20% german tax.

So here I am with over 100 euro 1199 abs front pipe from german ducati dealer/seller, what the hell can I do about it now???

Sure as hell don't think I should have to pay even more money for Ducati stupid parts no system / screw up.

Totally P@ssed off with them rightnow.

  3. I'd buy the part, then package up the incorrect one and return it. Part numbers will match the product so job done.

  5. Can't see ducati giving refund on open package part ? What would I say, sorry

    Oh,
here is another little trinket of theres best to know.

The 24 degree Bush kit is listed with one part no. ON THE 1299s parts fiche and on the box it comes in, YET the part no. on the actual 1299s Frame Bush/insert part is totally different and not even possible to reference when contacting Ducati. WTF!!!!

  6. Mate, honestly, I've got loads of identical parts with different part numbers.

Sometimes I think it's like politicians changing policy just to make their mark.

Kinda like a new person is responsible for part numbers and wants to change numbers for the exact same part just to show they've existed in their job.

More like they can't spell ISO 9001 but maybe they're just a bit dim.

  7. In my industry, usually they change the last digit (from 1 to 2 and so on) to denote a modification they have made. I say usually because they do sometimes just do what they bloody well please.

  8. Ducati Italy emailed me back, then called me, but after much explaining, they said they have no way to check/track orders so will have to sort it out with the Ducati dealer in Frankfurt and if have to send the part back to ducati Frankfurt. (At my own expense.)

Oh and the lovely lady on the phone said she will pass on my concerns regarding the 1199+1299 front abs pipes being different parts, YET having the exact same part no's.

  9. And they will say, Heyyyy, watta does it matta da stooped Britisher (in my best Italian)
