Good evening all, as the title says, I'm a new member, living in Leicestershire A year ago, I purchased a dream, a stunning, mint condition 1996 916, with 11500 miles from new I was considering putting a private registration on the bike, until I saw the original
I'm not certain of how you could tell it is the original number? However its entirely possible that the the original purchaser of the bike had bought that plate prior to the bike purchase and registration. He/she could have then registered the bike with that plate. Though it could have been just a co incidence...
When I get home on Friday, I will check the documents that I have I'm sure that when the bike was HPI checked, it showed up as that registration number from new
Exactly. The first owner could have bought the 916 plate. Then once the bike was purchased (by him new & unregistered), the dealer or him/ herself had the bike registered with it as the first plate. Its not uncommon. Its a great plate to have on your bike which is the important part.
Love it when a reg plate works when buying I bought my mini because of the ref although when new it had a private plate the one that was then register to my Mini suited me oh and you forgot my rubbish bin pictures we like them and it keeps me happy welcome into our mad house
