Just had this little lot delivered. Just got to get the sucker mount now - it was out of stock. Any tips?
Great kit, got one this yr. Its the #2 version. Read the manual re resommended caerma / video settings and go from there.. There is a shortcut whereby you hold the power button for a second and it goes straight to video ( rather than cycling through the menu). Buy a good SD card, dont skimp.
I have the black edition also, great piece of kit. I have the sucker mount and find it has a bit too much vibration much prefer the stick on mounts. They do need to be update out of the box its quite straight forward, the standard battery life is pretty poor if you use the wifi. Its great that you can sync your iphone and use that as the view finder if you don't have the small screen. Good Luck with it. Gaz
is it for road or track? if you intend to use it on track you are no longer allowed to use suction mounts. Cameras can no longer be tank mounted either. ( on MSV say so)
Use one or two of the anti fog inserts if you are using the waterproof case; they do mist up going from warm to cold. Don't film for hours and hours; you will get sick of trawling through all the footage to try and edit a decent bit together.
Any tips? Weld it to something! Go pros are pretty much banned from Odiham as scattering the runway isnt great news for them, and it seems of all the cams used these things have the most aversion to staying fixed to either helmet (which is now banned) or plastics
If you are going to rid at Magny Cours you need to lock wire it to the bike.. Don't ask me how but that was in the rule book when I rode there in August.
one thing about the gopro is to try and get it start recording video as a default setting. if not, you'll have to toggle through the menu, and because the screen is crap on all of the gopro's with tiny icons you will inevitably think its recording only to find out its either taken 3 shots of your arse, or nothing at all. with mine, it always resets itself to 3 shot mode when it's turned back on, irrespective of whether ive saved the new default settings. With these cameras, you never know if theyve actually recorded anything until youve gotten home (not sure about the later editions with wifi)..most of the times ive used it ive returned to find that it hasnt recorded....i'll say this though..when in its housing, it can be thrown at the wall quite hard and only break the clasp on the case..impressive. this reset of default has had me almost selling it on ebay because its been so frustrating.
