Hello just got a GoPro so where's the best place to mount & the equipment needed On the bike or Lid ? Thanks
Depends on the views you want. The bike works well but the sticky pads are bloody difficult to remove. You need a decent PC to mess around with the vids. Can be very slow.
Velcro strap around your knee and attach the camera to that. The lower you go the better it gets. Hair drier on hi helps get mounts off.
Really looking to use it to see how we are riding one following other Road, body positioning apex hitting the stuff you don't see it's not for YouTube just for us
Anything body mounted will suffer a lot less from vibration than anything bike mounted....the other thing I think that is overlooked is sound....the gopro seems to make every bike ive ever heard sound like a sewing machine...some people attach mic's and get better results...I know that's not really what your looking for but more of an observation....
Not to bothered about sound but thanks I m thinking head area but abit worried on how to attach it suckers or side mount
I bought one last year in the U.S (got it cheap so cant complain) ive only used it once on the side fairing of my rsv4, ive got one on the side of my lid but not used that yet, but just ordered a handlebar mount for my zed (which I spect will be the one I use) as I wont look like a tellie tubbie...you can get a reserve tether as well, so you stick it wherever and then also have a reserve cable just in case one comes off...
I took my gopro out on my 1299 last night on a chest mount I usually use for skiing, nice footage and I used the skeleton back which gave great sound reproduction until 90-100 when the wind noise increased.
I don't like Telly Tubby look either but the thing about head cam is when riding you can film your mate better he's still got a bit to learn about going where he's looking and I m hoping some film will show him what I m trying to get in that thick head of his
I have a contour HD and I mount that on the side of my lid, eye level, so it sees exactly what I see. The contour is more like a bullet shape though so less obtrusive. The gopro be abit more bulky. The only problem i have with mine is the wind noise when I turn my head from side to side. Other than that, it perfectly captures the exhaust note of my 996.
