As above. Fitted a quickshifter to my zed this weekend....why ive not had one of those in my life years ago I don't know....it was the only thing I liked about the s1r I test rode 4 months back...anyway....some of the lads on the kwak forum have asked If I can do a vid of it running and while I don't have the thing strapped to my head 24/7 ive used it a couple of times....anyway...so, lets say I do an acceleration vid and tape over the clock...am I gonna get knicked....im not interested in outright braking the law....just getting to top gear, through the gears and that's it. More of a demonstration of how it sounds and how it goes through the gears as the bike doesn't come with one and the HM that's plugged in technically isn't made for it (it came from a zx10 I believe). I just didn't want to get some footage, and then get a knock on the door....and most importantly if its a grey area then id rather not take the chance...
Dont the kwacker lot know what a quickshifter is? Have they never seen a race? Tell em to nob off and look on you tube if they are allowed.
I have my helmet cam positioned so it can see the road ahead but not the speedo. Saying that, if i was going to upload any footage to youtube etc then id be carefully making sure the speedo etc is not visible.
Well, while they've been on zed, I think theres about 30 seconds of bad footage of one on a paddock stand in some Vietnamese garage somewhere. That's the only one ive seen (2014 model that is) HM don't offer one directly for mine, but it seems that the zx10 one fits (with a different bar)
As I say if its in the grey area then I wont bother....I read a couple of weeks back some lad got banned for a year drifting up the mountains somewhere in Wales (no speed indicated but the camera filmed him drifting), personally I thought he was pretty good, had people looking out, did it while it was quiet (early morning) and, ultimately it was only him that would get injured if he pikes peaked it and went off the side...although if he did trash it, it would have taken a fire engine/ambulance that otherwise could have gone somewhere else....(putting my "responsible adult" hat on) but im not, not really...
It's an old air strip in West Dorset (not to far from Bristol) where they drag race on 3rd Wednesday evening each month. Just turn up and ride. A few boys from on here have done it. South West Bikers | Motorcycle Forum • View topic - Henstridge Airfield Bikers Blast
