During December I took delivery of a special bike and a really special one - think I got sucked in when ordering a while ago by Ducati's evil and underhanded marketing strategy for gullible idiots. Here is the first getting detail and ceramic coating after delivery: Then this one at last arrived, which is exceptional, a Bagnaia replica: At some point I'll have to tell the wife how much I spent .... or will I?
No but I did get them to cut out the section with the detail on it .... perhaps I should frame that to put on the wall when I'm in the doghouse.
I mean, as a serious question, should you have been interested, would they have let you have it? Notwithstanding storage considerations, I would love to have the ones for my 851 and 916…
Wowzer, you've got too much money, probably not so much now though ;-) Beautiful bikes mate, and money well spent, I do like a dry clutch
I intended to get the SP2, that was planned out before I went to the dealership - had done my research etc etc. Maybe because the sale was quick and easy the salesmen thought I was a goose with more money than sense. So he brought up the possibility of the replica. I have my own business which I started out on my own years ago after quitting the the civil service and have worked at and worked at expanding and growing. It has been ups and downs but overall it has grown year on year and at last as I sat there hearing about the replica I felt like I could at last give myself a bit of a pat on the back. I don't have an amazing house and cars do nothing for me (just don't break down) so to own a Ducati (i've had a 748, 1098, 1299) that was near to a one-off felt OK to do. I actually feel a bit guilty posting these two as if I'm showing off but that's genuinely not it, I just wanted to share with other Ducati people a one-off purchase .... (although maybe ... ).
If you’ve got it…spend it! Can’t take it with you! Is the Bagnaia Rep a V4R btw? I know nothing about these new-fangled bikes!
You are not showing off, mate, you are sharing beautiful pics and dreams with us! And I thank you for that. Now, you may find out that these two bikes are very similar when riding on the road (same era). I had this dilemma when I owned a 916 and 998 at the same time. I felt… I don’t know, like had « double too much ». I since have kept a 916, but looked for older models (851, 900ss). And each time I ride one, I travel in time. I actually just pulled the trigger on a 1980 Darmah SSD, but that’s another story…
Dead right, since I retired my favourite phrase is "now's the time!" It's no good being the richest person in the graveyard, you're not showing off, you're living the dream, knock yourself out pal, the photos are amazing, it must be awesome to ride, enjoy.
Congratulations I think I’d have let out a little sex wee if I’d seen that crate turning up on my doorstep. And thank you to the good people at Akarapovic for finally making an exhaust that looks like it fits the “new panigales”. Gorgeous
Your only here once and life can change in one conversation so you enjoy everything you can Post pics we like them can I have a bin pic please
WOW!!! Stunningly beautiful bike. Congratulations, I would love to hear your thoughts on it after a few rides.
Yeah I don't see why not, the dealership I gather don't sell too many of these. But TBH it didn't occur to me and space would be an issue.
