Went for a ride up the A49 and across to J&S things didn't feel right so came home early to check the bike over and i've done around 3k on the old tyres so may aswell get new front and rear but what to go for??? and what size is the rear wheel nut? Richie
I just figured out your pic, lol. Its a close up of your rear tire showing air bubbling out after wetting it. I thought i was looking at a tarmac floor with oil on it!(Where's me glasses???) I will always recommend Bridgestone, especially the BT-023's. Super feedback, super grip dry or wet, had them on 2 bikes now, made a mistake fitting Michelin Pilot Road 2's to my other bike, yes they're even softer and as grippy but too much movement at low speeds(v.soft compound) make for an unnerving feel, fine at speed tho. Also they seem to wear well too, but i will be buying the 023's again.
Been there and done that several times over and it ain't funny. Once was on a brand-spanking new, riding it home from the dealer, R1. Luckily (or so I thought) I was almost at a bike dealer and managed to ride it there without the damn tyre coming off the rim. They changed the tyre quick as a flash but the back wheel was fooked. It looked like they'd been over it with an angle grinder. When I complained they said "you must 'ave tracked it mate, everyone does with these things, it must 'ave had boots before". Then I turned the ignition on and showed them the sum total the bike had travelled - 11 miles. Needless to say, they paid for a new wheel !
