Finally picked up my 848 evo Tricole on Monday and i'm delighted with it. It initially handled like a pig and didn't want to turn into corners but a quick check of the tyre pressures revealed the front was at 1 bar . I have a few questions for you ducati gurus that I hope you can help me out with. The bike came with slash termi's and pops and bangs on the overun(which I like) but the bike accelerates really smoothly. I have the race ecu and filter and wondering what difference they make? I only intend to ride on the road so is it worth having them fitted? Will fitting them drastically affect the insurance? The bike is very unforgiving over rough roads. Any recommended suspension specialists in the Glasgow area? Thanks in advance for any assistance. Regards Phil
Love the bike ! As for suspension setup give Eddie at ERS Racing a bell , he's over in Dunfermline but worth the trip !
lovelhy bike, yeah many seem to think that the rear suspension is set too hard, probably best to get a professional set up done. With regards to the exhausts, the reason the Race ECU gets fitted is because the standard exhausts have catalytic converters, the Termigs (in most cases) don't so the fuelling needs to be 'corrected'. Many have ad amazing results by having their standard ECU custom mapped for around £300. I am trying to book mine in at the mo to have it done so will post the results when I do. Have a look at this link: ECU Remapping That's just an example and they explain the why/how of it. Obv you are up north so not sure who best to speak too. PS My bike pulls okay without a remap but it's lumpy as hell at the bottom when the air temps are high and there is a definate flat spot at around 6k RPM so massive improvements can be found with a decent map. I haven't thought about the insurance yet, probably will add 5% for the exhausts and 5% for the Map, but if you want to be covered I guess that's the price....
Cheers guys, Gary, will give ERS a bell they are less than an hour away(on some good roads too). Farmster no the paint job was by Dream machine commissioned by Laguna m/cs and supplied new by them to the previous owner.(apparently to replicate the 1199 tricole colour scheme). Cheers Phil, not found any flat spots so far but haven't pushed too hard yet. Just don't want a bike that's unrideable on the road.
