Great Forum

  1. I am 2 weeks into my Mutisatada ownership, bike still as new as I am a sunny day rider.
My previous 4 bikes have been BMW R1200 GS's and I wanted a change. I have also had a Harley for the last 15 years but that is gone now and I am down to one bike. :frown:
Riders of Bristol are my supplying dealer and a big thumbs up for them as in all my years of Harley ownership and now Ducati they have been great.
The reason for this post is to say how pleasantly supprised I am at the quality of posts on this forum compared to GSUsers, where the language is at times not to my liking.
I know the Multisrada is only just over 2 years old but the amount of problems are significantly less than BMW's, yes there are moe GS's on the road but there is still a trend towards the Multistrada as being better built.
Any body out there agree or disagree.

  2. Well I agree the quality of posts on here is far better,on the GSUK site I couldnt believe some of the rather poor and tasteless things that were being sold in the "classifieds". I complained to the Moderator, who was the original poster of one item, and had it closed. Eventually.
I had a GS for 3 years before my Multi, sportsbikes before that, and I do enjoy the Multi. The GS has a large list of recalls and common faults that are very rarely commented on although I must say my old one was faultless for reliability.
I think the newer GSs are worse than the early ones.
Enjoy your Multi, and also get it out on wet days, it will not dissolve!!!

  3. Yep this Forum is very helpful, friendly, witty with a few "characters" and some real "diamonds"
multistrada.net almost as good but not the variety.

Glad you are enjoying the Multi

  4. Secret is to go far enough on it that avoiding rain is impossible sooner or later. You don't aim to ride in rain - you just accept it when it shows up. Nothing to be scared of. And you can't ever be good in the rain unless you ride in it.

    Now that sounds patronising. Bugger.

  5. I can only concur....the infos and tips I find here have been soooo very helpful. Thanks guys! Oops and gals! :upyeah::upyeah:

  6. It was a little quiet for a while but picking up nicely now............the Multi section is way more active than any other section of the forum :upyeah:

"Oops and gals!"..........have we got any Multi owners of the fairer sex here yet??

  7. Can any of them reach the ground on one?

  8. I have only one recollection of riding my Pikes Peak in the dry. She's a wet weather girl now. PR3's help :)

  9. Thanks for all the encouragment to get the bike dirty but no thanks. I like a very clean bike, allways have.
Secondly I have just had a double bypass and a new heart valve so I am on a high dose of warfarin. All the doctors said no more biking and were horified when I said I was not sure if I could stop after 47 years of biking. I gradually talked my wife into letting me buy the Multi so I am under strick orders to ride like the 63 year old that I am and riding in the wet is more risky.
    :upyeah:

  10. Good on you Richard, enjoy as and how you want. I have just had a triple bypass, but am on very few pills - and love riding in the wet _ now where's that glass of red ? (sorry to hijack thread with medical stuff !)

  11. Enjoy your glass of red as that is one thing I did listen to from the doctors, alcohol is now almost a thing from my memory.
Maybe we could start a new medical thread titled "I bet my scar is bigger than yours".
(I bet your leg was worse than your chest, mine was)
