The Ducati bug has bitten me again.. I used to own a Ducati 848 (2008) which I totaled in a nasty road accident and a Monster 1100s which I sold to buy a S1000RR and later regretted to no end. The stable now has an F4 1078 and Brutale 920. The 848 is still my favorite bike and I kinda miss the torquey L twin.. I'm in the market for a tip top 2009/2010 1098R (non Troy Bayliss).. Welcome in, there was someone else on here currently looking at a 1098r, they are beautiful machines. You wouldn't consider another 848? An 848 Evo perhaps?
Hi Phil, I was considering the Evo.. The local dealer here is giving about 20% discount on 2013 models to clear stock prior to the 899 arrival.. But I've been eyeing the 1098R for a while and now that the price has fallen to more affordable territory, thought I might as well go for the best..

Hi bomaris, thanks.. i'm based in KL, Malaysia. We've got a strong dealership and more than 1,000 ducati owners I think.. not bad for a small and not-so-rich country. There's not that many 1098R here and they are not for sale.. I've been searching for one in the UK but it must be 09 or newer in order for me to import into the country - one of those quirky regulations we have
