For those that have a ground anchor in the garage where do you have it positioned - front / back; side / middle? Maybe a dumb question as I guess it depends on what else you use your garage for but thought it was an interesting question.....
Should be positioned so the chain can't reach the floor - so they cant spray freeze and shatter the chain against the concrete
Some chains are anti freeze arent they and so are locks though you pay a bit more for these. Depends on what type of anchor you have really, is it the long one that you bury in the concrete or one that you just bolt down, if it is bolt one then either left or right hand side wall if its brick, at back of garage, use 6mm or 8mm raw bolts think anchor comes with them supplied.
I have mine fitted to the back wall of my garage about 6 inches above the floor level. My bike is then parked across the garage infront of the anchor almost touching the back wall and with no more than 8" between the bikes wheels and the side walls. That way I can just about reach the padlock to lock/unlock but the bike itself is in the way of getting access to the padlock or anchor if anyone tried to tamper with it or get tools to it.
It's a bolt in job - an absolute monster - so could bolt it straight into the wall and lash it to the frame (carefully of course) on the wall side so the chain is off the floor - may need to get a shorter chain though as its 3m long with 16mm diameter links.
