  1. Hello to follow protocol I thought I would drop an intro -

Im based in a village North Bucks, close to 'On yer bike'.

My first legal bike was a fizzy so those of you who will remember those glorious 70's will figure the age ..I have never been without a bike since I was 13 and zipping around the garden and have done some racing too in Road Atlanta while working in the US. I wont bore you with the bike list but the most recents have been R1, SP2, F4 (still with me) and also still with me a K1200s, and no I never thought I would buy a Be-eem but it has been an interesting experience not sure if I will keep it but thats another story - I also have an interest in speedy and old 4 wheeled machines but a lot of my time is spend with my two kids - Im a late Dad with much younger wife and a 7 and 5 year old so time is at a premium. Like to visit the gym, cycle and photograph.

So what am i doing here ...well facts are that late in life, relatively speaking, I have decided I want a Ducati. I have lusted after a 900SS in the 70's but knew I had no chance of getting to work on a daily basis - Lusted after a 916 when it first came out - had the opportunity to buy but didnt...and now for some reason I have an itch for a 999R/S because I just think they are a drop dead beautiful machine - yep I have read all the books and know it was a flop market wise and yep understand why a lot of people would loathe it as a follow on to the 998 - For those of you old enough it was much like when the ill fated Triumph TR7 followed the TR6 ....(ramble) but just as well we are all different :)

Anyway enough chat - I have also just posted a wanted Ad to see if I can unearth what Im looking for

    Thanks

    Steve

  2. Welcome...you will certainly enjoy a 999. The first Duke I had was a 999 and as you will read elsewhere and based on the experience of others, I was concerned that I'd made a big mistake. I thought all this Ducati stuff was a myth and that I'd probably sell it soon. All I can says you need to stick with it and make sure you get your suspension setup done properly for you. Wish I still had it...but that's another story
