Mate, not watched the whole vid , got to the part where you ask if you'd go public with a £33M lottery win? I agree with your answer , but I probably wouldn't go public with your speedo on show either...
I've got to agree with Rosso. You've got your speedo and your numberplate on the video. I think that's a bit dodgy. Lovely looking bike though.
Nice run over. If I was going to fork out 10k for something it wouldn't be a gsxr1000. Nothing wrong with the bike and totally agree with your opinions on 1000cc's being enough for most of us. But, for me, its down to looks, and that's subjective. The gsxr to me has now become a little bit boring the blue while nice is a bit of a company car colour...If I was going for a gsxr it'd be a slightly older one where someone else has done all the mods (and if I could squeeze it - lightweight wheels) - essentially one that's a bit more gsxr'y badass...(in my head Ive got ghostriders bike!) I think id rather throw 10k at something a bit more like a 1098 or an RSV4 (what ive got!) Having said all of that I think the gsxr's still rule in endurance which says a lot for the motor!
You know its one bike I've never ridden, mainly due to really wanting to ride a K5 version but for obvious reasons its not easy to find one at a dealers that'll let you take it for a spin and i don't know anybody who has one. The newer models just got a little small for me at 6ft 3, always felt cramped. I reckon id have a K5 track bike though if money allows in the future
Yes and no Chopped the s1kr in for a S1kxr so the Mrs can come out on the back with me on a few trips this year. Love the engine but its definitely a one person bike the S1kr I think I'm going to try and do a few euro trips, maybe latch on to some from this forum as it'd be good to get to put a few beers away with people I've conversed with for years Went back and forth between the DVT and the Xr for ages but when a XR Sport model came up available for a very reasonable sum just before Christmas i decided what the hell. The DVT is a good bike no question but for me it just isn't as sporty or sharp as the XR. Also if I'm honest i didn't feel any of the vibes people seem to talk about, in fact the Mrs complained the DVT vibrated badly for her as a passenger, go figure. Plus the Sport model comes with all the fancy stuff such as QS up/down but good old normal suspension which miraculosuly can be adjusted/re-sprung. ill have this for a year or so and chop again, i got this on a really low rate (practically interest free) PCP deal so can always buy myself out of it anytime really.
Ah...cool - I look at the xr one way and think...I can see why they did that....it all looks like it works....then another and think - what were they thinking....its an odd bike but looks fun at the same time. Still on the zed as the primary bike and loving it more than ever....eyeing up a set of marchesini's at the moment....just trying to justify it to myself...! sorry op....we kinda got chatting...
Everything is down to opinions and personal preferences , but one thing for sure is K5 gsxr, rsv4 or any bike pretty much over 500cc is too much for the road , and far too much for 95% of people on track as well, and anybody who thinks otherwise is fantasizing about there abilities i love the gixxer but then again i love all bikes , but the blue on the moto gp rep looking like a company car
Not sure about the "anything over 500cc" statement....my 525 supermoto gets a good seeing to regularly...id say more like 800....but yeah - as you say subjective...just my thoughts nothing more...still, a nice bike all the same.
