  1. was told new model coming off dealer appears its the same with abs as std very poor try by Suzuki ,never gonna get back in the game with this effort,

    • Agree Agree x 1
  2. Suzuki have never been known to spend lots of money on development and as they are re-entering motogp I guess the budget is a bit tighter...

  3. there are some cracking deals on this years bikes 9k otr plus low rate finance ,

  4. Big Gixxers will still run rings round an 1199. Even without the electronics and being 5yrs old. But I am a GSXR fanboy and might be deluded or an idiot. Probably both but a K5 GSXR750 is almost the perfect bike.

  5. Do Suzuki and Kawasaki still share R&D resources?

  6. I used to be a Suzuki fanboy (first big bike was a 7/11) but now .....just not in the running anymore...they only put ABS on the thou cos there's an eu regulation coming into force...I don't think id consider anything Suzuki at the moment ( maybe a tricked up thou - a big maybe though ) and that's only if I didn't own my rsv4 factory - which I do - so I wont...

  7. Going back - if they did what they did then (Gamma 500 - headcase types of bikes) that kind of stylee but transposed that to today they'd be up there.

  8. I think Suzuki's problem is the whole range is outdated. Bike manufacturers need to shift lots budget/entry level bikes to fund the r&d of there top sports bike. For example I don't think it's a coincidence that since kawasaki starting selling ER6's like hot cakes, they have been able to develop bikes like the new zx10r and the h2. Much like how Ducati were saved by the Monster in the early nineties.

I think if Suzuki are going to improve there range, they got to start at the bottom and work up. I don't think the current range will be attracting many new customers to the brand. Just those looking for a deal and the die hard fans of suzuki.

  9. I'd quite like a K5 GSX-R1000 for a track/thrash bike to replace my 2003 R1, although I'd also be tempted with a newer R1 as Yamaha seem to be super reliable and Suzuki a bit rough around the edges.

  10. Absolutely agree Ben - I think for the last 5 years Suzuki have been bolting coloured bits of bling onto gsxr's and calling it the anniversary this or that and then expecting to flogem off like theyre new....they seem to think we're all a bit naïve..

  11. There's was a little article about one of the main dealers in MCN and he was saying he'll be happy if he sells a handful of GSX-Rs this year. They had very good deals though because of it.

  12. Yeah - I did read it....its almost like he had given up as well!! - at least the next GSXr need to have a full electronics package, be lighter, front and rear has to be ohlins - or - go out there k-tech or something like - be different...and restyled - always hated the twin exit pipes on the newer ones...more power would be nice but then that could be totally forgiven if the handling was killer.....

  13. Just to add at least for example aprilia doesn't have the clout of Suzuki but, year on year they've made big improvements to the RSV4, so much so that if I were to sell mine....id get another factory but a year old one for example....or maybe a panigale...

  14. I've always found it interesting that despite all the stuff that went on in MotoGp and the fighting with Rossi, etc, Biagi has had such a massive part in helping Aprilia make such an amazing bike. I really should test ride one sometime, what could possibly come of that.....

  15. yeah - that's what I said when I had a go on my mates r6 last year, wrote it off, got saddled with it for 4 months (worst bike I ever owned/forced to own - never have another 600 anything in-line-4 that's for sure)

Rsv4: what a bike, sounds and goes like a 1 litre 350LC and sounds like it as well...as said if I wanted another 1 litre sports bikes id probably just get another one with aprc - the only other close contender would be a panigale but (ill probably get the Ducati massive on my back here) the ducati twin engine as a whole IMO has never characteristictly lent itself to a racing kind of sound, theyre low pitched, low reving, torquey motors (the kind of lumber along if you will) - hence why ive got the hyper1100 - its like a 2 wheeled high powered tractor...the engine kind of lends itself to the style of the bike. The rsv4 motor is high revving, snappy type power - if ever you have a go on one you cant not help but want to twist the throttle just to hear it!
