Anyone able to tell me if any other duke exhausts will fit my GT? I am keen to liberate some DBs from the GT but would like to secure some used exhausts, given how few GT items are around, will MONSTER etc pipes fit?
Some owners in the US liberated more sound by drilling holes in the baffle of the standard pipes. Not sure if the Monster pipes will fit, but I'm sure someone can advise. My GT1000 had Termis on it when I bought it, but I'm not sure if Termis are still available. Could be worth checking ebay or looking to see if anyone is selling kit on the Ducati.ms site. Keihan & Staintune both make silencers for the GT1000, might be worth a look at their websites too. Good luck!
Hi Rudolph me banging on about exhausts again... Is drilling out your cans a serious option? If you did it carefully and then got a Ducati specialist to rejig the ecu would you not face big problems at MOT time? Anyone done it?
I suggest you have a trawl through here :- Sport Classic - Ducati.ms - The Ultimate Ducati Forum Pretty much all SC mods are trialled or started by members of the site, including the drilled endcans(which I dont think I'd do myself), just remember that many of the US guys are nowhere near a decent dealer so will attempt stuff that would make us roll our eyes on occasion. While this site is a general Ducati/Multistrada one the SC section on .ms is very active and deals with only the SC range and is probably the best source of info for our bikes on the internet. One budget option is to use the cheap universal reverse cone endcans made for a range of older classic bikes, these will need to be packed as they come with nothing inside them and also would need an adaptor bend to get them to sit in line with the bike and not stick out too much at the end. I believe these adaptors are made for Triumph and are about 20degrees.
I was keen on the reverse cone idea, however, a pair of cans for a 1000 monster came up, stainless FUEL cans, they dont look out of place, although a more traditional look would have fitted in better, they do sound spiffing though. Worlds crappiest pic.
