Gt1000 Mods

  1. Ok hopefully securing a deal on a damaged high millage GT, my plans are
strip, paint and re-build the engine (may as well check it if I am painting it)
was debating on fitting 999 wheels but think I will go for Alpina tubeless ones
    seat re-shaped and covered
    Nitron rear shocks
    one off echaust
    paint, powder coat etc.
Now do I just fit progressive springs and refurb the forks and brakes, or fit S4R forks and brakes, prob still have to have them refurbished, progressive springs, is there any real advantage to this for normal ridding?

    Thoughts?
any other mods I should consider?

  2. Spending more and getting a good one !! :hammerovermyheademoji:

  5. £2377 or £1550?

  6. Ah go on , your worth it.

  7. A lot of the lads at work have VW T5 camper van conversions that seem to be all the rage these days. Another one wants to join the club and is looking for a nice example in great condition, with all the right history and bits and pieces, and doesn't mind paying a slight premium. Anyway, the advice of one of the lads (who owns about 10 cars, all of which are rough) is to buy a one that "needs work" and save himself a few £.

Now I'm all for a project with a classic, but with anything remotely modern, my advice is, as you say "Buy a good one".

  8. I may do but the budget keeps going up, I need to cut back somewhere, I reckon I am looking at around £9-£10k

I would love to have the money to buy a low mileage excellent one for £7,500, then have the money to make it my own, another £4-£5k, and I haven't got it, so this way I get to play and end up with something special for my budget

  11. It's mobile correction for kineo, last owner fitted them, top class quality and no where for air leaks as the spokes don't penetrate the rim.

  12. Ok I have ordered a pair of s4r forks and calliper, what disks do I use?

  13. Your standard disks should be ok. Have you bought the bike?

  14. Put a deposit on it, as I said it's a bit of a shitter but still £4K, but that gives me money to make it something nice over the winter
