Stayed At friends last night got back this afternoon to find a note in the kitchen, "sorry dad I dropped your bike showing my mates" 3 weeks ive had it Its dropped on the left so upper fairing is cracked clutch lever snapped, hand guard snapped, mirror scuffed up, Rear peg snapped and top box scuffed. My lad has gone into hiding at a mates house, probably the best place for him at the moment.
At least he didn't 'borrow' it and crash it which is what my daughter did to my then fiancees car when she was 16. It's a shitter but it's only bits of plastic and metal and you'd have felt a lot worse if it had fallen on him and busted his leg. In years to come he'll have his own kids and whenever he moans about them you can remind him what he did and tell him to just man up and forget it
That's shite mate. Mine KNOW that they would be finding their bags at the bottom of the driveway even if they go near the shed! Don't be too hard on him though, I reckon a beating to within an inch of his life should do the job.
Oh no!!! Once you calm down get hold of him and give him a list of prices that it all costs and give him all the dirty jobs to do to pay it off ;-) Kids eh they can't help themselves The guy across the road and his mates decided they would try to sit on my bike in the dead of night I'm not one for swearing but they got an ear full I got an apology the next day
I feel your pain, my 996 was knocked over by my kids, it was still on its side when I got home, I was daft enough to leave it on the side stand and she said she only brushed past it, lever/indicator/clipon/mirror, thank god for Fleabay, the mutli is always on is centre stand and well out the way
I always try to remember to leave mine on a paddock stand, the kids brush past in the garage trying to find tennis rackets and footballs, on the sidestand it"s an accident waiting to happen, the last owner dropped it in the garage, it seems a common occurrence.
Did he take his passport with him ?? I bet he is as gutted as you are though and once everything calms down he will be getting a shit list if jobs that he will be doing to pay back for the damage.
Oh dear, insurance claim and get your lad to pay for the excess? Obviously that and a few other chores
Just a word of warning on going down this route. My car was crashed into while parked in 2010. I came back to it to find that the offside rear quarter and rear door were damaged. The culprit wasn't found and I made a claim on the insurance for about £1200 if I remember correctly. I have 4 bikes and have had to declare this claim everytime I've renewed my insurance, it makes a big difference to the preium I pay on each policy. In fact I think they have had their £1200 back by now, or very close to it. I think I'd be pricing up the parts and making him pay Let's face it, Father's Day was 2 weeks ago, what can he do now
