Had a bike key stolen from outside my house. I have had the alarm fob cleared from the alarm so it is now null and void but can I do the same with the Ducati key (bike is a 2013 model so no red key and I do have the key-card)? Thanks in advance.
They have access to your bike locks and immobiliser. I'd be making sure they had no means of access to your bike until you can get that situation rectified. Speak to your insurance as it'll mean new locks and maybe a new immobiliser if that particular key can't be made null and void.
Cheers Rob, I've moved the bike and have it booked in for new key/locks but I'm trying to find out if Ducati can actually block lost keys and reinstate new ones without doing a lock change. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The immo for the stolen key can be removed, the thing that can't be changed is the mechanical ability of the key to unlock the bike. Depending on bike dictates whether it is a trip to the dealer to recode keys to the immo or if you have a bike with a code card then you can DIY. If you go DIY then you will need a key with a code already in it don't buy a key off eBay as these are blank and for cloning.
Cheers for the info Chris. A local dealer managed to reset the system and register the remaining key and a new key so the missing one is no longer active. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
