  10. Don't Halford's mainly sell utter crap? I seem to remember straying into one of their stores once and the experience was so distressing it made me contemplate suicide!
10% off crap or crap on sale is still crap if you ask me, which of course you didn't!

  11. Joe - yes, some of their stuff is crap but the discount card means you can usually get oils (mobil 1 for the car and castrol for the bike etc) when offers are good cheaper than anywhere else on the t'internet.
Also goes for branded stuff like muc-off cleaner, micro fibre cloths etc.
You can get a genuine 916 Yuasa battery from them for less than 40 quid with the discount which is unbeatable too!
Their professional tools aren't exactly snap-on quality but for occasional users they're fine and have a lifetime guarantee.
Just avoid the tat that is there that belongs on a Sunday Market stall:innocent:

  12. Their torque wrenches tend to come out on top of motoring magazine tests, they are Halfords branded Norbar Wrenches. The Professional range tools are very good - had a large Halfords socket set for 25 years and it's still as good as new. Also they are a motor factors for all car parts and will price match any local motor factor on trade prices.

  13. +1 on their torque wrenches. I’ve got a 3/8” for hex bolts etc and a bigger 1/2” drive for back wheel nut and flywheel etc.
Bang on for the quality and price

  14. Yep, as above. I may have referred to my wiper blades as crap, but that’s just because they’re a boring purchase... Bosch OEM though.

Their tools are great, as are their cabinets.

  16. is that really true re norbar? im in the market for a new one but have only bought norbar but would consider the halfords one if its just rebadged?

  17. Big sale on cabinets.

  18. After many weeks of looking for a good torque wrench, if you are after a 3/8 with good range I can highly recommend the one below. I looked at the Halfords and Norbar ones but they don't quite have a large enough torque range.
Avoid the Clarke digital one, they are absolute rubbish - I bought one and sent it back!

This one is just shy of £51 on Amazon prime and is perfect for the Ducati, does most things apart from rear wheel nut:-

Teng 3892ag-E3 Torque Wrench 20-110nm 3/8 Square Drive

  19. Sunday has an extra 15% of on bikes also.:upyeah:

  20. Halfords professional tool range is excellent for the money and more than good enough for home mechanics. If you can get it at a discount its a bargain. It's worth having a discount card for the tools alone. Everything else, car wise at least, I find I can get much cheaper at the local motor factors.

I'd maybe change my mind on the bike stuff if Halfords starting stocking S-Doc products instead of Muc-off.
