has anybody taken the handguards off and replaced them with the mirrors with the built in indicators? and do you have any pictures? i ask because i dropped my sp about a week after getting it, the only damage was to the handguard, i sheared off a couple of bolts. i did fix it with a glue gun and that held quite well but where they connect to the end of the handlebars won't tighten up enough to stop the guard from sliping down, try to tighten the nut and i just wreck the head, there are a couple of bits of plastic sheared off that stop it really tightening up, so it will never be perfect, so finally getting to the point, do i buy another hand guard and replace it or do i go with the indicator mirrors? when i got the bike i wanted to get the racing handguards that ducati do, only to be told they don't fit a 2010 evo sp. advise or pictures appreciated
Hi - no pics I'm afraid, but I replaced the handguards and put the indicator mirrors on. No issues, and I got some R&G bar-ends to stop water etc getting into the bars. However, since then I have put the origional handguards back on, just as I ride through winter and wanted some hand protection. Only issue was wiring was a bit fiddly, but I managed it ok.
cheers Stevie, after a lot of confusion with duc cov telling me the racing handguards won't fit my sp, spoke to parts at manc duc and they assured me that they will so have ordered from them, will get the indicator mirrors at a later date as nearly £400 for the set is quite a bit to fork out in one go, what was the wiring issue you had?
