1199 Handle Bar Mirrors

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Clarkey63, Aug 20, 2018.

  1. hi guys
Thinking of getting rid of the awefull ducati standard mirrors and fitting a set of handle bar mirrors
Any recommendations also thinking of fitting bar end indicators has anybody done this on here
Again any recommendations your help is much appreciated
    Thanks

  2. I’ve just done the same.

Bought some cheap 70mm round ones from EBay, the fitting that most of them come with where you tighten up bolt and it opens up an aluminium collet isn’t the most secure fitting.

I cut down one of the existing bar end plugs then drilled the centre out and bolted it together, seems to do the job :upyeah:

Oberon make nice bar end indicators and clamp type mirrors, there not cheap but look the best IMO.

I may upgrade to these, the above was more of a test that I got on with the bar end mirrors before I spent a few quid

  3. I bought some eBay ones but the shape of the mirror made everything look so small they were useless.
Then I splashed the cash on Oberon mirrors and indicators and I'm very pleased.

Huge improvement on the standard mirrors. For a start, you can actually see vehicles in the reflection.
Secondly blue headlights in the reflection no longer look like Police vehicles are after you.

  4. What are you doing with the indicators?

  5. Hi Sam,

Which model mirror did you fit ?

Was it a bar end or over bar clamp type

    Thanks

  6. I went with the Chinese ones as well and a custom machined bar end with led indicators on the end. I agree that it makes the view smaller as they aren’t convex, but everything comes with a cost, so I make do with these.

  7. I have the smaller and rather cheaper Oberon Street fighter bar end mirror fitted just on the right side as an additional fill-in for the oem mirrors.
Works a treat. Gives me much more confidence about what is around me and the build quality, as well as the image quality, is excellent.
It's big enough to work well but small enough to not spoil the look of the bike.
It replaces the standard bar end and sits over my little finger, barely adding anything to the width of the bike.
    Highly recommended.

  8. Thanks guys
Can I have some pictures so I can decide which way to go

  12. I hace the CRG Arrow mirrors and NRC indicators - the mirrors work well once you get used to them and are pretty much fine free.

Best pictures I can manage at the moment as I'm not with the bike.
Zoom in for a closer look.

I'm told by fellow riders following me the indicators are very clear and easy to see.

  14. Must confess, i had them on my 748/853 and thought they were rubbish. You have to take your eye off the road for too long to use them as they are too low.

And don't buy cheapie ones, they are shit.

  16. Here's mine and it works a treat.... Rizomo 60mm spy mirror. Easy install and you can tuck it in when not in use...
