I've seen these online and am looking for one for an 848. They are model specific though and the 848 and 748 type appear to be different. Do you know what the difference is? Is it just an adaptor to make it specific to the model?
Just had a look on Deamon Tweeks and the stand looks identical to this one, apart from the £175 price tag! The spoggot that goes into the rear axle is removable so that you can change the diameter of it dependant on the bike. Be quick before I stick it on ebay Craig
Ok. Ta. I'll try and figure out what I'd need to do / buy to fit an 848 so need to sort that first. I work in Aberdeen Mon to Fri and stay out towards you weekdays so I could easily collect. I need to sort the fitting etc first though. Also, I've not got the bike yet but will need one in due course anyway, just hadn't planned to buy now but the saving is worth it I guess! Don't wait though, if you're away to eBay it just crash on. Will try and figure out the fitting query tonight / tomorrow. Ta.
You are in luck. I work in The Bridge of Don and have a lathe on site. If you can find out the ID of the rear axle I can knock up the correct size shaft for you for £10. Saves me the hassle of ebay and postage. So £100 all in. Craig
Could be wrong but I thought 848 was the same size pin as 916 era bikes as they use the same wheel/sprocket carrier setup etc? 1098/1198 are definitely different as they have a bigger hub/axle.
Yeah, I think this is right. Demon Tweeks show them as being different but the Harris website shows a 748/916/848. I emailed Harris yesterday just to double check so will wait for them to come back to me to be safe. I wasn't really planning to buy one so soon but the Harris one is the Rolls Royce and the RRP is probably too high to justify. This seems like a good deal though.
Ok, the response I got from Harris is this:- The HARRIS stands are the same for both bikes. You would need a 25mm pin for the 848. Does this sound the same as your stand? Cheers. Andy
