Was up there yesterday. It was heaving. Pissed off to see they have made patchwork quilt repairs on all of the twisty bits, but at least its not the gravel blanket that they usually throw down every spring. Putting new tyres on for Donny, so may be up there later to scrub them in. Will be closer to 5 o'clock though i think.
Phill, just realised that must have been you heading towards Hexham when I was heading for Alston, we passes that quickly I just 'nodded'. Not until I saw you at Rothbury then saw this picture that I realised it must have been you. Bike looks nice.
what were you riding. .? sorry for my crap memory I saw a lad on a 1098 and another 848 when I did a dash from rothbury were you the lad on the white 848 at rothbury !!
yeh they dont police patrols there anymore. theres so many gravel traps its unreal - that slowed me down
I was up there for just after 1 yesterday. They had the area car in the bike lay by just before the cafe. Saw your bike but no one standing around it so didnt have a clue where/who you were:frown:
I saw your baylis rep very nice. I stood around it in the hope that the owner (you lol) may have come over for a natter. im sure I saw a camera van down the valley (other side toward cumbria) ive been pondering a 1098r and a 999r the 999r because my BST wheels will go straight on lol
I still havent updated my gsxr leathers. hence I may not have looked like a ducati owner due to the colours of my kit. but I was the big tall fooker lol
Lol, maybe next time. Might actually catch a run with you and Ian if I'm home and you announce on here. He used to run an RC8 at the same time as me and we were both on KTM forum. Never managed to meet him then either. Doh!!
what did you think of the rc8...was it an R. m and s motorcycles were trying to get me to cock a leg over one
One of the first standard ones. Had nowt but warranty cases with it and got sick in the end. Think they will be well sorted now, but initially they had a lot of issues. Was ok to ride, but after a handfull of 748/916/996 is just wasn't special enough. Motor was very linear and while decent power on paper, it just didn't stir me like a Ducati. Would probably put up with one if I couldn't have a Duke, but wouldn't be my first choice. The R may be a step up from the original but I've never ridden one. Can mebbies try for next weekend. Am home till the sunday night then abroad with work for 2 weeks. Keep me posted.
Nice pic Phil did you take a run down to Melmerby I used to have a supermoto that the stretch from hartside down to there was the best bit, that and the hairpins.
