  1. One of these????

Yup it's a Key guard from an 848, specifically from an 848 not a 1098/1198.

No its not broken or damaged either, it's from the 848 Ducati Performance / Gubellini steering damper kit.

I would like the profile of the arc tracing so I can cut a carbon fiber one to the same shape.

Scanned and emailed would be great or just plain old drawn round and posted would be good.

  3. Would love to help Anth, but ive got the 1098. Sorry :frown:

  4. Ouch! There goes another rib!!!

    Side splitting that one ;-)

  5. No problem,

I've got a stock one and a carbon one, I just want to cut my carbon one out to suit the Ducati Performance damper bracket.

  6. Is this the same as one on an Evo? Why not go down a dealers and measure one?

  7. No, the Evo one is the same as all the others Matt. The Evo has the mounting bracket welded to the frame like 1098.

They are only with the 848 Gubellini / Ducati Performance dampers and are like hens teeth, I've only managed to find one owner wherever I've tried.

But I have been offered a loan of it, to cut a carbon one out, should I still need to when i get home....(thanks Ruffs)

  8. I've got one fitted to my bike. Where are you based? I am south London/Kingston.....

  9. Only the other bloody end of the country :frown:

Your one of two people who I've managed to find that owns one now. :upyeah:

I just need to access one for 10 mins to draw the radius of the arc onto a plain one to cut out.

Oh i'm from Hartlepool in the N.E. of England.

  10. Sorry about that. It was always going to be like that - sods law etc.

I am on hols at the moment in France and the 848 is back in the UK so I can't measure it for you. But I remember getting it when I got the damper, and thinking I could have just dremelled away that arc in about two minutes, so why they bothered supplying a new one is beyond me. The cut out is about the size of a ten pence coin, maybe a little larger. Like a 5CHF coin (swiss franc).

Send me a PM after the 28th when I am back if you like and I will then remember to go and measure it for you. But just from the big piccie you had at the top, I bet you could just cut it at a guess and try. Take less off and then dremel until it fits. If you want to wait, back on the 28th. Had you been closer you would have been more than welcome to pop over.
