Anyone travelling down from Heathrow area? I'll be going across country, box hill, Haywards Heath, Hailsham to Hastings. Anything to avoid the A21
If anyone wants to join in, leaving the Green Man Pub, Hatton Cross, Tw140PZ around 9am, heading south on A roads to box hill, no M25 or A21 to arrive at Hastings late morning.
Hastings was packed, busiest I've seen it, what with the local festivities going on as well. We went via M20 then through Rye that had a big gathering of bikes happening as well. We came home on the A21, big mistake, absolutely nose to tail traffic. I had the closest escape of my life when a car pulled out from the left. I just managed to swerve enough to miss it. I thought we were off, I'm talking millimetres. My girlfriend would've copped the worst of it, she felt the draught change on her leg as we skimmed past it. Scary.
