Does anyone else really dislike the clutch on their V4s when trying to pull away from standstill, I was out on mine on Sunday and even when pulling away normally it stalled a few times and normally would have been fine, when I tried to do a quick launch on it once the clutch was so grabby and horrible, ok I know it's the first time I've ridden it properly this Year but it feels like its gotten noticiably worse, has anyone else had these sort of issues?, its in for its recalls and annual service this week so don't know wether to bring it up or it will be a case of 'they all do that sir'.
They defo do not all do that fella. Sounds like it needs some attention. How many miles has the bike done? Mart
The demo bike that I rode had a horrible clutch when cold. It was very grabby, and sounded and felt pretty bad. As the engine warmed up it improved until it became pretty good. I thought there was an issue with a lack of oil pressure in the clutch area that was causing this and that a service bulletin had been issued. Ask your dealer about it.
1st gear is very tall so you need some revs to launch plus I was advised from new to give the clutch a bit of a hammering to bed it in. Mines not given me any trouble although it’s soon to be converted to the STM dry clutch. Andy
Mine is fine, the clutch on the Tuono is a little more work. Got my recalls done last week which included the clutch lines so I haven't haven't had a chance to ride it yet.

Just turned 2000 Miles, its been away for the winter since the end of October so was the first proper ride this Year, I never remember it being that bad before though, I know it needs some revs to get going I'm used to that but not experienced it cutting out like it did a couple of times and trying to get a decent launch from standstill the one time I tried was impossible, the clutch was so grabby, I'm not sure maybe it needs bleeding?.
I'd be interested in what you think when you ride it, I recently had a go on a new RSV4 (so I'm guessing the same setup as a Tuono) and the clutch was miles better than my Panigale was at the weekend!.
It did have some recall work done on the clutch but I think it was the master cylinder only, it’s in tomorrow for the oil cooler and can tensioner recall as well as a service so I will ask them then.

Rode mine after the recall work and its night and day better. The spungy feel is gone and I could adjust the lever back toward the bars. Bite is perfect, consistent as well. Hope this helps.
Mine's OK now the pipe has been modified in the recall. Not the easiest clutch, but miles better than it was when new.
Had hoped today/tomorrow but the take up of the V4R and orders for dry clutch conversion kit have left STM are out of stock of the plates. EVR are also out of stock of the plates that they do for other STM clutches. Andy
