Haven't told my wife yet...

  1. Hi from , just off A69 in Northumberland and not far from Hartside (tho' I don't like the road up there myself)
Usual ride is a CBR1000RR but latest acquisition is a 748SP on a P plate (43,000 km). And I haven't found the right moment to let my wife know... I still have to sell the ST1100 project just completed (nearly)
SP has gone in to M&S for a proper service as previous owner hadn't done anything in 4 years. They found no flywheel (completely missing) and bent wheels, Rockers are worn but I'll probably not replace rockers yet, just keep an eye on them at next service.
Hope it's as nice to ride as I hear, 'cos I'm not looking forward to the bill when it finally gets home.

  2. Hello and welcome to the mad house

  3. That was quick!

  4. Lol watch out for the locals :)

  5. try ducatiupnorth/scottishducaticlub for people near you.

  6. Scotland? Ho Hum - never forgiven them for the Border Raids - they came and pinched our women and cattle! And not necessarily in that order either. On a different note, however, I prefer the run out via Hawick and Newcastleton to the Hartside route anytime

  7. Welcome from snowy Morpeth, I thought you lived at Henshaw?, I'm on DUN too, lots of fellow enthusiasts in the Northumberland/Tyne and Wear area for ride outs when the weather improves and yes the borders offer some fantastic roads which I know well....will post up when venturing out in the spring

  8. Henshaw and Bardon Mill pretty interchangeable - pass the Little Chef then look left as you climb the hill going west

  9. That's soooo naughty :)

  10. welcome to the asylum lol

  11. from what others have said you just need to buy her an expensive handbag

  15. Hello and welcome. She won't mind too much I'm sure! Well hopefully not!

  16. Just tell her you've had it ages. She does the same with dresses, handbags, shoes etc, so it's only fair

  17. tell her its a stray and you just had to save it lol

  18. Like all of these ideas-considered trying them all at once but will probably go for the straight swap for the St1100-"what do you mean, it's a different bike?"

  19. Welcome to the forum. My wife divorced me 11 years ago and I took the opportunity to NOT replace her so no obligation to tell anybody anything!!.......Oh and I remember her saying when I bought my first Ducati in 1998 "Make the most of it, thats the only Italian beauty you're going to get your leg over".............How wrong she was:biggrin:
