Looking for a headlight that’s brighter and more aesthetically pleasing than the stock headlight on an Evo. Any ideas? Photographs would be good if you have one on your bike.
I was looking at these the other day: https://www.jwspeaker.com/products/applications/motorcycle/ Can't remember where I got this image from - maybe on here.
i bought the bucket and bracket second hand from a guy who'd put his bike back to stock. it uses a bracket which mounts to the stock mounting points rather than the fork mount, so is damped by the OE rubber mounts. looks to be motodemic from the pics above. the brackets are decent, machined and coated ally, but the quality of the bucket isn't the best and it's heavy so i'm looking to source a lighter one. the indicators are motogadget which i also have on the rear. all connectors and resistors easily fit in the back of the bowl so its nice and tidy. the light unit i bought direct from the visionx website. i had 3 x 7in LED's in the garage including one that looks identical to the first gen motodemic. all were crap and rejected. the newer motodemic one with active cornering lights looks better but also appears to be readily available on the usual chinese supply sites. the test reports and reviews of the visionx swung me that way. i live in dubai which has manic drivers and think bike is just a pipe dream, so wanted to be visible. it's a great unit, very crisp cut off and the high beam is superb. wiring was dead easy but i chopped the OE connector and replaced with a deutsch. the wiring for the headlight is such that you can have the DRL ring, low beam, high beam or a combination of all 3. my only gripe is that the evo has DRL's and a 2 position switch so i have it wired with the halo ring and low beam constantly on and then everything on with high beam seected. i'd prefer to have halo / low beam and halo / everything, but not sure how to go about that so its in the too hard pile. one thing to mention is that i bought 2 motogadget indicators from revzilla to go with the 2 i already had. not sure if there was a design change but i had all sorts of issues with blink rate which couldn't be solved no matter what combination of resistors i used. i bought another new pair, fitted 4 same value resistors, et voila.
